Playing with friends far away?
Hosting from one player's PC is the unfairest setup: the host plays with zero ping while the farthest friend eats the entire round trip, and the host's home upload becomes everyone's bottleneck.
A server in between splits the distance so no one carries all the lag. Internet routes are not straight lines, so the fairest middle point is not always what the map suggests. This test measures real pings and recommends the region where the worst ping in your group is lowest.
