Sven Co-op turns Half-Life into co-op. You and up to 32 friends fight the AI together, no PvP. Around a hundred official co-op maps come with every install, so nobody downloads anything to play them. This is the shortlist worth loading first, plus an honest note on custom community maps.
Campaigns you can pick at deploy
These five load straight from the deploy form. Pick one as your start map, then the server rotates or you change level from the console. All of them ship with the dedicated server, so every player already has the files.
- Sven Co-op: The original campaign (svencoop1 into svencoop2). The classic first run for a new group.
- New Hope's Last Stand: A four-part defend-and-survive series. Good for a bigger squad that wants to hold a line.
- Crystal: A two-part co-op map. Short and self-contained.
- Infested: A single co-op mission you can clear in one sitting.
- Sven Co-op Tetris: A change of pace: puzzle over shooting. Fun filler between campaigns.

Beyond the deploy picker, the roughly one hundred official maps are all present on the server. Open the console with the ~ key and change level by name. Use status first to confirm the current map.

Sven Co-op has thousands of community campaigns, but two facts decide what you can play on a hosted server. First, GoldSrc has no Steam Workshop, so there is no subscribe-and-go. Second, delivering custom maps to joining players needs a FastDL host, which the first release does not set up. So a hosted server plays the official maps that ship with the game. If a campaign is not in the install, players cannot auto-download it here yet. Stick to the built-in list above and you never hit a missing-file kick.
Difficulty scales with your squad
Modern Sven Co-op has no easy or hard switch. It scales with how many players are connected, so a full lobby gets tougher enemies. Pick a bigger tier for a bigger group and the maps push back harder on their own.
